The New Adventure!

Well after many, many attempts to get back into shape I have decided to go big. From April-June I will be doing the P90x routine everyday. I will track my progress vigorously and post every week or so on the progress, the results, and the challenges. I hear great things about how hard this program is and I am all for intensity. For the next two weeks it's diet changes and sleep schedule regularity. I am hitting this challenge running....so to speak.

Until next time.

Long time no see

Alright- It has been a while I know. Phew so much to catch up on.

Well I am back on food! The Juice Fast was great, lost ~ 25 pounds most of which was in the first 5 days. I highly recommend trying it if you are so inclined.

Now I am working toward a steady gym/diet routine. Sounds easy.Nope.

My new adventure is......(drum roll please) Project Happiness. The goal is simple, if it makes me happy, and doesn't piss anyone else off. Do it. So far so good. It works aces, bad mood; work got ya down. Think happy thoughts, overcome your bad mood with happiness. Cheesy, yes. But if you commit it works. So far at least.

I will post more specifics soon. But until then, it is good to be back!

Sorry for the delay

My apologies for the lack of posts. As it turns out, I was only able to make it 8 days with just juice. I woke up one day and started to make my breakfast juice and my body would not have any of it. I have since resorted to a mainly raw food diet. Slowly this week incorporating cooked foods but still avoiding red meats, caffeine, sugar and white flour. I feel much better, and have not tacked on any extra weight. My total weight loss for the fast was 25 lbs, which I lost in the first 5 days. I am still very happy with these results and will probably do another 3 or 5 day fast in a few months.
The one thing I have noticed is my body loves the gym now. Before I would try and find an excuse to get out of going. So far most mornings I look forward to the gym, I do not work out vigorously yet but I sweat and get my heart going. I think this is just what my body needed to jump start itself into a healthy pattern. Tonight I will be back on foods but I will still try and limit the macro nutrients. I have set limits for how much coffee I drink a day, 2 cups. And lastly even though my fasting adventure is over, I am helping some friends on their own journey. I have done very few things in my life that have inspired others, and I am proud to add this to the list of things that have.

Good luck to all who try their fast! It was definitely worth it.

I found an awesome post today

While looking into what has become of Joe Cross recently, the man who co-stared in Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead I came across a very interesting article. It very clearly expresses the benefits and risks of a juice fast. I encourage all who are intrigued but have not watched the film to read this over. Maybe it will drive you to watch the film which could encourage you to start your own juice fast! I am on day five, and save for missing food I am feeling fantastic.

If you have a moment I would recommend reading this article.

A thank you to Celebrity Chefs around the World!

Since I have been on this fast, I am not sure why but I am addicted to cooking television. I liked them before, but now since I cannot have food I love to smell it, see it and be around it as much as possible. So a thank you go Gordon Ramsey, Eric Ripert, and of course a personal hero of mine, Jamie Oliver, for having so much wonderful TV food content on the internet.

Day 4!

I honestly feel great. I am down 15 lbs! I am averaging 2-4 lbs a day, which is extreme, but I have been eating extreme for the past decade so it's warranted. The most important thing I have learned yet is that Ginger should be considered inedible. It is the most disgusting thing I have ever had. Just horrible! If I was a wandering humanoid, starving, searching the ground for food, and I came across some crazy looking root, okay maybe I'd try it. But once I tasted that burn I would immediately put it back in the ground and tell all of my fellow wanderers not to eat it! Seriously gross.

More to come I'm sure...

Leave it to my beautiful wife =)

Although neither of us were bloggers before this fasting event it appears now this sparked us to be bloggers as well (thanks Nicole!) And if you want to read her perspective of what we are doing you can follow her blog ( http://todaybestlife.blogspot.com/ ) .
